Go watch the Circus!

Go watch the Circus!

Hey everyone. I’ll keep this one short. Recently, I’ve been spending my free time watching a Showtime show called the Circus. This show follows the 2016 election beginning a few weeks before the Iowa Caucuses in January and goes through the aftermath. Unlike other political shows, it features the candidates talking on different issues, and not commentators talking about them.

I’m enjoying it for two reasons. 1, in a time where I cannot trust anything coming out of the media, I believe this show because it focused on people talking (i.e. straight from the horses mouth), rather than discussions on what’s going on (something that is much more susceptible to media bias). Plus the ‘hosts’ of the show, Mark Halperin, John Heilemann, and Mark McKinnon, come off as regular guys trying to show people what’s going on behind the scenes of the election instead of the typical media correspondent (though maybe it’s just because it’s on Showtime and they can say “shit” and “fuck”).

The other reason I’m enjoying this is because it’s a nice cap off to this crazy election. Given how it ended, it is fascinating to see how we got here and how no one expected it.

So, if you want to watch something slightly more enlightening, then give this show a try.

P.S: Watching my boy Gary Johnson talking about his interview where he didn’t know what Aleppo was and describing it as a “shitstorm” was amazing.
